Space Center Houston

A science museum located in Houston, Texas that serves as the official visitor center of NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. It has earned a place as a Smithsonian Affiliate Museum in 2014. The organization running the museum which is NASA and has operated under a contract with a nonprofit Manned Spaceflight Education Foundation. Space Center Houston has opened in 1992 replacing the then Johnson Space Center Building. The area is 250,000 square feet with400 space artifacts, displays, the Mercury 9, Apollo 17, and Gemini 5 space capsules, permanent and traveling exhibits, as well theaters that have a focus on the history of human spaceflight programs.

Space Center Houston is the home for a unique Independence Plaza exhibit complex that lets everyone see the Space Shuttle replica that stands mounted to one of the two original shuttle carrier aircraft. Not only that, the Rocket Park displays to the one and only made segments intended for flight. Mars Mission is the exhibit that opened in January 2017 that was developed with the help of NASA. This focuses on what NASA has been doing now to plan for the future voyage to Mars. Mission Mars educated the visitors about the characteristics of the planet a well as a virtual reality experience.

SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket Exhibit

 A flown SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket exhibit is now on display at Space Center Houston. It’s one of only two SpaceX Falcon 9 boosters on display. Walk underneath this marvel of reusable space technology and learn how it is making space more accessible.
